Abi Zakarian

Abi Zakarian is an award-winning British-Armenian playwright based in London. Her playsinclude: WHAT THE THAMES TOLD ME produced by Arch468 for the Royal Docks ‘This is Who We Are’ festival, PERFECT MYTH ALLEGORY produced by Jermyn Street Theatre for their ‘15 Heroines’ series and which won an OffWestEnd OnComm award, TATHA WAKES UP FROM A VERY LONG SLEEP produced by Pitlochry Festival Theatre for their Shades of Tay season, CLAPPED produced by Damsel Productions for their site specific Damsel Outdoors season, I AM KARYAN OPHIDIAN produced by Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre for the Sam Wanamaker Theatre; ENOUGH, produced by Small Truth Theatre for the Kensington Karavan Festival and also recently adapted for audio as part of the Digital Caravan trio of plays; FABRIC, produced by Damsel Productions for Soho Theatre and a London Community tour; I HAVE A MOUTH AND I WILL SCREAM produced by Joyous Gard for VAULT Festival where it won the festival's 2018 People's Choice Award; THE BEST PIES IN LONDON, produced by Rift Theatre for their immersive Shakespeare in Shoreditch festival; THIS IS NOT AN EXIT, produced by the RSC for The Other Place and transferred to the Royal Court; LULU7, produced by So & So Arts at Drayton Arms Theatre; SWIFTER, HIGHER, STRONGER, produced by Roundpeg Theatre at the Roundhouse; A THOUSAND YARDS, produced by Feast Theatre at Southwark Playhouse.

FABRIC, produced by Tremers Theatre, played at Underbelly, Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2016 and won a Fringe First Award.

In 2019 she was co-commissioned to write the Brit School/Andrew Lloyd Webber Bridge Foundation musical for 2020 to be produced at Southwark Playhouse; in light of the Covid19 pandemic she and her composer and co-lyricist Colm Molly adapted the piece, A THRESHOLD, into a unique audio described/concept album/radio play hybrid which was made available for free download.

In 2020 she and playwright Morgan Lloyd Malcolm put together a week long programme of events for the Bunker Theatres final season. Called Morgan & Abi's Power Share, it was to feature over 100 artists sharing space and collaborating to give underrepresented creatives the opportunity to stage their work. Cancelled due to the first lockdown they intend to restage it when restrictions are lifted.

Abi was awarded an MGCFutures bursary in 2018 and is also the recipient of a Peggy Ramsay Foundation grant. She is currently developing FABRIC for television and is under commission with Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Futures Theatre and 45North.

Holly Adomah Thompson

Holly Adomah Thompson is a Theatre Marketer based in South East London. She began her career as Marketing Intern at Park Theatre and eventually became the first and last Marketing Manager at The Bunker Theatre. Holly has led marketing campaigns, for instance the sold out My White Best Friend for The Bunker Theatre and for productions programmed at The VAULTS Festival (2020) and received the Social Media Presence and Activities OFFIE Award 2020 for The Bunker Theatre. She is also the founder of Getting in Formation, her events company which seeks to provide insight and information on the arts sector to emerging and entry level creatives. Holly is also the co-creator of Creative Futures, an event series for the University of Greenwich to inspire their Drama students to pursue careers in theatre.

Holly is also the founder of Holly’s Angels, a volunteer food distribution hub which works with theatre venues to provide food, clothing and gifts to their local communities and freelance artists who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Previous venues have been Park Theatre, the Albany and the Globe Theatre.
