First the journey of our ancestors from the shores of Afrika... then looking at the role of UK within that... and the birth of 'The Commonwealth' an appropriation of the wealth of other continents and people namely Afrika, The Caribbean and parts of Asia... out of the ashes of the Commonwealth leaders and a new found spirit of 'Self determination' arose, the notion of ‘self’ arose, prioritising the direction, place and standing of us as black people in the world.” - Flo Awolaja
