ANDY JORDAN

A director and producer for theatre, audio drama and online plays, specialising in new writing, he is proud to have discovered many now successful writers, including Jimmy McGovern, Allan Cubitt and Richard Bean.  He created one of the first national touring new writing companies, Bristol Express. His directing credits includes work in the West End, Off-West End, Edinburgh Fringe, UK regional theatres and productions in New York, Warsaw, Hong Kong, Paris and San Francisco. He recently directed The Inn at Lydda for Shakespeare’s Globe. His 2020 online lockdown drama SpaceXPat won an ONCOMM award, and Best Production and Best Play in the Scenesaver Awards. He was a Senior BBC Radio Drama Producer, directing many award-winning productions. Last year, he directed two BBC Radio 4 plays, Barbecue 67 – The Original Summer of Love and The Signalman, an adaptation of the Charles Dickens ghost story broadcast on Christmas Day. 

 

ANDREW PEARSON

Trained at LAMDA. He is Artistic Director of E52, was an Associate Director for Hull Truck and The National Youth Music Theatre, a regional producer for Battersea Arts Centre, and creator of the Heads-Up Festival. With Richard Vergette: As We Forgive Them (MEN and Off West End Award winner) and Nice(Forever Manchester Award). Productions have toured to the Bolton Octagon, Arcola, Young Vic and  Tobacco Factory. Dark Winter at Hull Truck Theatre and Devil’s Chord, which was part of A Nation’s Theatre. He directed the award nominated London premiere of A Steady at the Arcola.

Founded in 2000, AJP is an independent production company with a focus on new writing. AJP’s 48 productions and co-productions include the national tour of Picasso's Women, starring Cherie Lunghi, Gwen Taylor, Jerry Hall in 2001; Lies Have Been Told (Trafalgar Studios 2006/07); Bette and Joan (Arts Theatre) starring Greta Scacchi and Anita Dobson, with music by Brian May of Queen, 2011; September in the Rain, written and directed by John Godber, starring John Thomson and Claire Sweeney, 2013; COPS (Southwark Playhouse, London 2020).
