NO SHOW
NO SHOW is a thrilling new night of theatre dedicated to platforming the boldest writer/directors working today. This intimate, limited run of original material at Park90 in Finsbury Park offers audiences a chance to experience three distinctive works, each presented as a 20 – 30 minute excerpt.
Guy Hodgkinson brings a sharp, cinematic edge to the stage with a fresh adaptation of This Closeness, the acclaimed film by Kit Zauhar, exploring intimacy, disconnection, and the strange performance of everyday life.
Steven Kavuma’s, These Four Walls (working title) Created in response to the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis in May 2020, and the subsequent global resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement, the play is a visceral exploration of systemic racism in society, white privilege, and how both affect a group of young people searching for difficult answers to complicated questions.
Audiences are invited not just to witness new stories, but to be part of their development—seeing them at a raw, electric stage of life before they reach full production.
Whether you’re a curious theatre-goer, industry insider, or someone seeking fresh, unfiltered work, NO SHOW promises an evening of innovation, experimentation, and unforgettable performance.
Wed 18 Jun: Post-show Q&A with Adeyinka Akinrinade, Guy Hodgkinson, Steven Kavuma chaired by Joshua Goodman
Join us after NO SHOW for a special Q&A exploring the vital role of research and development in the creative process. Hosted by our studio team, the conversation will centre on how actors, writers, and directors can carve out space for experimentation—especially when resources are limited. We’ll also discuss the unique challenges and opportunities for mid-career artists and how R&D can spark new ideas, collaborations, and ways of working.
