Londres
By Martin Muphy
It’s the opening night of an exciting new restaurant, and the owner has an unexpected surprise for someone.
A hen party threatens to boil over as loyalty lines are drawn, a new employee tries to impress her boss over several bottles of wine, carers discuss their most harrowing patients and a financial trader wants to pop an important question, if she can get a word in edgeways. All these issues are cast aside however as restaurant staff inform them, they’re about to play a little game.
As London battles its way back from the pandemic and the cost of living crisis, Martin Murphy’s new play creates a microcosm of the city’s diversity and financial inequality. Londres tackles serious issues but is littered with humour and fun.
Londres follows director Amy Allen and writer Martin Murphy’s previous collaborations, including Jury, which received a OnComm Commendation from the Off West End Awards.
