When Colin receives an anonymous package, it plunges him into a steep downward spiral.
Who would send him such a thing – and why? Is it just a harmless joke or something more sinister? And why put it in a cake box?
The Gift is a comedy that deals with that universal fear we all have; what should you do when someone tries to seriously upset your applecart? Should you take it in your stride? See the funny side? Or rest at nothing until the culprit is found and made to pay?
As Colin considers his past transgressions, he realises that the list of possible candidates is longer than he hoped. Everybody is a suspect – even those closest to him. But as his sister Lisa and her husband Brian swoop in to try to save him from himself, Colin remains undeterred. He will not concede defeat quietly – not when this could be the defining moment of his life. The point of no return. His greatest victory. Or maybe it could be the moment the wheels fall well and truly off, and he is left to rue the day he ever opened Pandora’s (cake) box in the first place…
