Comedy Club 4 Kids in association with Park Theatre presents

Comedy Club 4 Kids

Since 2005, the Comedy Club 4 Kids has been getting the best stand-ups, sketch acts and cabaret stars from the international circuit to do their thing for an audience of children (aged 6+) and their families… but without the rude bits! Almost 20 years later, the company has expanded from one London residency to being countrywide, running shows and workshops all over the UK from Peebles to Portsmouth, even producing a book on how to write and perform stand-up, and hosting our own Radio Nonsense podcast to bring the sillies to families all over the world.

The show is family friendly, but without any patronising idiocy. In fact, it's just like a normal comedy club, but it's on in the day, kids are allowed in, and thus there is a higher than usual chance of the entire audience claiming to be called Bob.

Adults to sit with children in their party (and help explain anything they get stuck on).

Group bookings to contain at least one adult for every three kids.

Thom Tuck (MC)

Thom Tuck is an actor, comedian, and extremely bendy man, who can ripple his body backwards just like Neo in The Matrix.

Having started out in the Penny Dreadfuls sketch group with David Reed and Humphrey Ker, Thom went solo in 2011, and was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe with his comedy show about heartbreak and Disney's prequels, sequels and midquels.

With credits in CBBC's Horrible Histories and CBeebies' Twirlywoos, the recently revived production of The Play What I Wrote, and Radio4's Thom Tuck Goes Straight To DVD and the Penny Dreadfuls' radio shows, Thom will be a familiar face and/or voice to some, and likely the only comic on a bill who can talk at length about The Lion King 1 1/2 .

Lachlan Werner

Award-Winning ventriloquist, physical comedian and ‘winningly silly’ (Chortle) clown, Lachlan Werner, has been in a double-act with a small squishy witch called Brew since he was an actual child. (Sometimes he works with other puppets. Brew definitely seems to be the most controlling.) Discover where voice-throwing will take this ‘flawless and laugh out loud funny’ (Reviews Hub) rising artist when gigging for an all-ages crowd!

‘The funniest new ventriloquist on the block’ Telegraph

Shelf
Unusual among comedy double-acts for sharing a name with the most basic of storage facilities, Shelf are South London's finest sketch act and dog impersonators. Captivatingly silly and ever engaging, Rachel Watkeys Dowie and Ruby Clyde delight in twisty reveals and playful honesty.
Since their formation in 2015, Shelf have performed at Bestival, London Pride, and been nominated for Sketchfest’s Best New Act award.

Their work has appeared on BBC3 and LADBible, and they are founding members of cult sell-out shows The LOL Word and ACMS. Since gigging for Comedy Club 4 Kids, they have put together a full hour of family-friendly comedy, and in 2023 won the award for UK’s Best Kid’s Comedy Show.
