Gala 2015

On Thursday 12th of November 2015 we took over the beautiful Art Deco Stoke Newington Town Hall to hold a star-studded Fundraising Gala in aid of supporting our mission as an accessible, neighbourhood theatre with West End standards and local community outreach in the heart of Finsbury Park.

The event was brilliantly hosted by our long term supporter Ian McKellen and red carpet arrivals included the good and the great of stage and screen; Orlando Bloom, Gillian Anderson, Derek Jacobi, Alison Steadman, Park Theatre Ambassadors Sean Mathias, Tamzin Outhwaite, Tanya Moodie, Hattie Morahan and David Horovitch as well as our local MP & Labour Party Leader Jeremy Corbyn, to name a few.

Artistic Director Jez Bond addressed the eclectic audience with a plea to support Park Theatre’s core vision "for theatre to be accessible to everyone” and thanked “all our sponsors and guests who bought tickets and contributed to the extraordinary fundraising on the night.”

The gala night raised a grand total of £200,000! All monies will provide us with greater operational stability over the coming year, enabling us to remain an accessible, affordable theatre and engage in outreach locally.

Without local or government funding, events such as this go a long way towards making up our annual shortfall of £300,000 needed just to keep our doors open. In order to grow and deliver more in-house productions and outreach programmes in the future we need to continue to raise vital funds. If you are interested in future fundraising events, becoming a Friend of the theatre or other ways of supporting, please contact Dorcas Morgan on [email protected]

The event was organised in-house by Park Theatre staff, spearheaded by Development Director Dorcas Morgan and Artistic Director Jez Bond. A special thank you goes our thirty volunteers on the night, without whom the smooth running of the evening would have been impossible.
