Fun for the whole family making Eco Art!

Eco Art Day

with local Artist Joan Podel

Come by anytime between 10.30am and 12.30pm and join the fun in our 1st floor bar, where you'll have an opportunity to create eco-art boxes from recycled materials; it's like your own mini set!

We will help you create your pieces, taking inspiration from our annual family show, Rapunzel. So think long hair, towers and silly languages and brave girls!

We will be using recycled materials and boxes are the key element to begin your work of art. You can bring along shoe boxes, cartons, small packets - any box will do! Also bring in any special found object - bottle caps, wall paper, ribbons, beads - whatever strikes your fancy. Artist Joan Podel will be at the helm! But if you forget your recycled stuff - hey don’t worry we’ll have some great stuff here as well. Here is a list of more things to give you some inspiration on what to look for when creating an eco-art box: Buttons, ribbons, old fabrics, old wallpaper, old posters, old greeting cards, used wrapping paper, corks from wine bottles, soda caps, any rusted objects that are found on the streets or where cars were parked, empty shoe boxes, string, empty little jam jars, interesting colored and patterned flyers, post cards or old brochures, dried flowers or loose branches that have fallen away from bushes and trees, pages from inside an old book or magazine, wrappings from candy bars, pages from an old comic book, aluminum foil, red netting from fruit bundles.

Special discount for Rapunzel tickets for anyone attending. Details provided on the day.
