John Savournin – Director

For Charles Court, recent credits include: Buttons: Another Cinderella Story (“A must-see” The Telegraph), H.M.S. Pinafore (“Wickedly funny” - The Guardian); The Mikado (“A small-scale production that hits the spot” - The Guardian); The Pirates of Penzance (“ingenious” - Evening Standard); Tosca in France; La Bohème, The Turn of the Screw, Cosi fan tutte on tour, and an evening entitled Avant Garde, with works by Ligeti, Schoenberg, Maxwell Davies and Beckett.

Away from CCO, recent credits include Wolf Ferrari's Susanna's Secret at the King's Head; Handel's Julio Caesare and The Falcon (play – world-premiere). Last year, he wrote and directed a new work for the Concordia Foundation's Young Audiences Project and he directed a new production of Pirates for the Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company.  Future plans include Patience, Charles Court at the King's Head Theatre, Il Barbiere di Siviglia for Musique Cordiale in the South of France and Pirates & Pinafore for the G&S opera company's first UK No.1 tour.

 

David Eaton – Musical Director

David Eaton studied at the Royal College of Music and now works as a repetiteur and conductor with many opera companies. He has performed at the St. John's Smith Square, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room and the Wigmore Hall both as a pianist and an accompanist and also on BBC Radio 3. He has conducted music from Gilbert and Sullivan to Schoenberg and Ligeti with a variety of ensembles and has worked as the musical director of Charles Court Opera for 9 years. He specializes in performances of piano accompanied opera, making arrangements of scores from La Boheme to The Turn of the Screw ('Eaton is simply astonishing' Opera Now). He also works as a translator as well as a lyricist and arranger ('A breathtaking version...something special that should be recorded for posterity' Hackney Gazette on Buttons). He is very pleased to be working on his first show at the Park Theatre.
