Park Theatre Company end of term performance

“The difference between a home and a piece of land is that you take care of it, you love it. Together we make it.”

A close in Haringey is home to families, colleagues and housemates. Caretaker Percy takes us on a journey into each of their lives.

A young couple struggling to have a baby, a group of nurses living in cramped conditions as the only way to make rent, and a mother and daughter battling to get a word in over each other, all have their lives turned upside down when a new resident moves onto the close on the day their energy bills are set to treble.

In the face of the cost of living crisis, Martin Murphy’s new drama shines a light on numerous issues people are facing today but still manages a sprinkling of humour and an overarching message of hope.

Performed by our Park Theatre Company, Close follows on from director Amy Allen & writer Martin Murphy’s previous collaborations Fixed, Refuge and Jury which received a OnComm Commendation from the Off West End Awards.
