Park Theatre Company Autumn 2021

22 September 2021 - 01 December 2021

What is it?

This is a weekly course for professional and non-professional adult actors (over the age of 18) who wish to be a part of a collaborative and supportive company. You will have the opportunity to work on a script and experience a professional R&D process.

Booking is now open to successful auditionees only.

Course Content

Week 1:

This week the company will get to know each other and be introduced to writer Martin Murphy’s work. This will be done through drama games, exercises, techniques and introductions to scripts.

Weeks 2-3:

The Research & Development (R&D) will commence. We will work closely with Martin and his new script as we research and develop the piece as an ensemble. These will be practical and energised sessions involving movement and voice exploration as well as collaborative discussion.

Weeks 4-9:

These sessions will take the form of an intensive rehearsal process. We will further explore characters, relationships, themes and techniques to discover more about the piece and enable the development of it from page to stage.

Week 10:

In our final session together, we will rehearse what we have discovered over the past 9 weeks and present the piece in an informal scratch night in the theatre’s Morris Space before heading to the bar for a well deserved celebration!
