THEATRE FOR DINNER

by Jez Bond

I’m out to the theatre every night this week. Tonight I’m seeing the new sell-out ‘London Road’ by Alecky Blythe. Tomorrow we’re at Hampstead for Filter’s new show – which I have been eagerly awaiting since seeing Water at the Tricycle. Then on Thursday it’s over to Southwark Playhouse for some Priestley in the vaults followed by a trip down to Brighton for Hydrocracker’s critically acclaimed take on Pinter on Friday.

Hungry now, as come straight away from meeting after meeting. Perhaps there’ll be time to grab a snack. Otherwise it’s gnawing on an NT cast list for dinner!

Just on my way home. Wow that was a great show. So rare to see something new on stage – perhaps it’s not entirely but certainly I had never seen anything like it before (and I’m not talking about the verbatim aspect but about the music – well, how the two relate). So if you haven’t already seen it, book a ticket now for London Road (just heatd that the run has just been extended).

Lovely drinks in the bar afterwards too – met loads of people and told them all about the Park (no names… at this stage).
