The cost of converting the building into two new state of the art theatres is substantial. However we are already well on our way. From our original target of £2.2m we now only need to raise the last £400,000.
That is the cost of creating a dedicated Education Floor on the premises. Provided that we secure this fantastic facility, we will be working with our partner, Islington Community Theatre (ICT), to deliver over £45,000 worth of education work to over 500 young people a year. Park Theatre is a registered charity (number 1137223), but receives no government, council or Arts Council funding at all. Our ticket sales and rental fees will only bring in around 70% of the income needed to run the building. So, we are relying on the generosity of our supporters to make up the shortfall of approximately £120,000 a year – enabling us to provide world class theatre and education programmes in Finsbury Park.
