A DAY IN THE THEATRE

by Jez Bond

Starting on site this this morning, my first meeting was with Sharon Schaffer who formed and used to run successful theatre company Kaos. She was very interested in The Park Theatre and potential involvement and it was a pleasure to show her round. Dave Hughes had provided me with some great colour printouts so I was happy not to have to lug my laptop in on the tube.

Returning home I resumed work on the model box of the studio (I had mentioned in Friday’s blog that our debate about seating was ongoing – this exercise has evolved from our discussions).

Later in the afternoon, Ben, Dave and I met Neil McPherson who kindly gave us a delightful tour of the much loved Finborough theatre.

After resuming work on the model (nearly completed) I returned to the Finborough to see a great play by Graham Greene called ‘The Potting Shed’ with a strong cast including my friends Martin Wimbush and (unbeknownst to me) Carl Ferguson.

The play ended and two hours later Carl, Melli and I were the last to leave the pub. A good day, just how I like it. A site for a theatre, a model of a theatre, a tour of a theatre and a show in the theatre. What more could one wish for!
